Meet Chef Ford Fry
Few restaurateurs have shaped a city’s dining scene the way Ford Fry has shaped Atlanta’s. A Houston native, Fry trained at the New England Culinary Institute before honing his craft in fine-dining kitchens across Florida, Colorado and California.
Fry arrived in Atlanta in 2007 and opened JCT. Kitchen & Bar, the first restaurant in what became Rocket Farm Restaurants. Its portfolio now spans more than two dozen concepts across Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville and Houston, including The Optimist, St. Cecilia, Marcel, State of Grace and Little Sparrow.
A five-time James Beard Award semifinalist, Fry has created restaurants recognized by the MICHELIN Guide, Wine Spectator and Bon Appétit. Little Sparrow itself has earned MICHELIN recognition since opening in 2023.
Beyond his restaurants, Fry founded Atlanta’s Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival, which is now in its second decade and benefits Georgia Organics—reflecting the same generosity he brings to his city and every table.
